Recommendation
It is recommended that the Committee review the installation of following traffic treatments and parking restrictions in Zetland.
(A) A raised pedestrian crossing across Joynton Avenue, south of Gadigal Avenue;
(B) A raised pedestrian and cycle crossing across Gadigal Avenue, east of Joynton Avenue;
(C) Installation of 1.9 metre wide raised median island, in Joynton Avenue, between the points 0 metres and 25.3 metres, south of Gadigal Avenue;
(D) Widening of footpath as follows:
(i) A 1 metre wide footpath on western side of Joynton Avenue, south of Gadigal Avenue, between the points 0 metres and 20.5 metres;
(ii) A 1.3 metres wide footpath on northern side of Gadigal Avenue, east of Joynton Avenue, between the points 0 metres 24.4 metres; and
(iii) A 2.1 metres wide footpath on southern side of Gadigal Avenue, east of Joynton Avenue, between the points 0 metres 24.4 metres.
(E) Relocating a "No parking" on southern side of Gadigal Avenue, east of Joynton Avenue, between the points 24.4 metres and 30.4 metres;
(F) Relocating a "Mail Zone" on southern side of Gadigal Avenue, east of Joynton Avenue, between the points 30.4 metres and 40.4 metres; and
(G) Relocating a "Loading Zone 8am-5pm Mon-Fri" on southern side of Gadigal Avenue, east of Joynton Avenue, between the points 40.4 metres and 49.2 metres.

Background
The City has received requests to improve safety for
pedestrians crossing at the intersection of Joynton Avenue and Gadigal Avenue.
As such, it is proposed to upgrade the
existing at-grade pedestrian crossing in Joynton Avenue to a raised
pedestrian crossing, new raised pedestrian and cycle crossing in Gadigal Avenue
and footpath widening to, facilitate safer pedestrian links and reduced vehicle
speeds.
