Recommendation
It
is recommended that the Committee endorse the installation of the following
changes:
(A) A Shared Path on the western side of
City Road, Camperdown, between the points 31.1 metres and 47 metres north of
Fisher Road;
(B) A Shared Path on the eastern side of
City Road, Camperdown, between the points 31.5 metres and 44 metres north of
Butlin Avenue;
(C) A continuous footpath treatment in
City Road, just west of Fisher Road.
It is also
recommended that the Committee note the installation of:
(D) A Bicycle Storage Area on Butlin
Avenue, Camperdown on approach to the signalised intersection with City Road;
and
(E) Bicycle lanterns on the northern
pedestrian arm across City Road, Camperdown at the signalised intersection with
Butlin Avenue.

The Committee
carried the recommendation unanimously.
Background
The
Development Consent for the University of Sydney F23 Building (SSD 7055)
requires the Applicant to provide improvements to the University Access
especially at the intersection of Fisher Road, Camperdown with City Road.
The
proposal includes the provision of the following:
· A Continuous Footpath Treatment across Fisher Road;
· A Bicycle Storage Area on Butlin Avenue on the eastern approach to the intersection;
· Bicycle lantern to allow for a signal phase dedicated to cycle movements; and
· A Shared Path either side of the intersection to facilitate cycle access into the University of Sydney Camperdown Campus.
The
delivery of the upgrades will address Condition C7 for the development of the
University of Sydney F23 Building.
