Recommendation

It is recommended that the Committee endorse the following reallocation of parking:

(A)      On the eastern side of Lower Fort Street, Millers Point, between the points 0 metres and 27.5 metres (five car spaces), north of Argyle Street, as "No Stopping";

(B)      On the eastern side of Lower Fort Street, Millers Point, between the points 27.5 metres and 40.5 metres (two car spaces), north of Argyle Street, as "No Parking Wedding and Funeral Vehicles Excepted";

(C)      On the eastern side of Lower Fort Street, Millers Point, between the points 100.8 metres and 131.3 metres (five car spaces), north of Argyle Street, as "2P Ticket 8am-10pm Permit Holders Excepted Area 16";

(D)      On the western side of Lower Fort Street, Millers Point, between the points 10 metres and 75.3 metres (11 car spaces), north of Argyle Street, as "2P Ticket 8am-10pm Permit Holders Excepted Area 16";

(E)      On the western side of Lower Fort Street, Millers Point, between the points 10 metres and 18.8 metres (one car space), north of Windmill Street, as "No Parking Council Vehicles Excepted 8am-4pm Thurs and Fri" and "2P Ticket 4pm-10pm Thurs and Fri 8am-10pm Sat-Wed Permit Holders Excepted Area 16";

(F)       On the western side of Lower Fort Street, Millers Point, between the points 18.8 metres and 25.9 metres (one car space), north of Windmill Street, as "2P Ticket 8am-10pm Permit Holders Excepted Area 16";

(G)      On the western side of Lower Fort Street, Dawes Point, between the points 104.1 metres and 113.3 metres (two car spaces), north of Windmill Street, as "2P Ticket 8am-10pm Permit Holders Excepted Area 16";

(H)      On the western side of Lower Fort Street, Dawes Point, between the points 113.3 metres and 133.3 metres (three car spaces), north of Windmill Street, as "No Stopping";

(I)        On the eastern side of Lower Fort Street, Dawes Point, between the points 0 metres and 10 metres (two car spaces), north of Windmill Street, as "No Stopping";

(J)       On the eastern side of Lower Fort Street, Dawes Point, between the points 10 metres and 18.8 metres (one car space), north of Windmill Street, as "No Parking Council Vehicles Excepted 8am-4pm Thurs and Fri" and "2P Ticket 4pm-10pm Thurs and Fri 8am-10pm Sat-Wed Permit Holders Excepted Area 16";

(K)      On the eastern side of Lower Fort Street, Dawes Point, between the points 18.8 metres and 68.1 metres (eight car spaces), north of Windmill Street, as "2P Ticket 8am-10pm Permit Holders Excepted Area 16"; and

(L)       On the eastern side of Lower Fort Street, Dawes Point, between the points 157.2 metres and 213.3 metres (nine car spaces), north of George Street, as "No Parking 7am-4pm Mon-Sat RMS Vehicles Excepted" and "2P Ticket 4pm-10pm Mon-Sat 8am-10pm Sunday and Public Holidays RMS Vehicles and Permit Holders Excepted Area 16".

The Committee noted the recommendation unanimously.

Background

Following a review of the redundant Bus Zones in Lower Fort Street, the City together with Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) and Transport for NSW (TfNSW), are proposing various parking changes to improve access to on-street parking in Millers and Dawes Points.
