Recommendation

It is recommended that the Committee endorse the following reallocation of parking on the western side of Kent Street, Millers Point, north of Argyle Street as:

(A)      "Loading Zone Ticket 8am-6pm Mon-Sat" and "2P Ticket 8am-6pm Sun and Public Holidays Permit Holders Excepted Area 16" between the points 10 metres and 15 metres (one car space);

(B)      "No Parking Authorised Car Share Vehicles Excepted Zone CND and GG" between the points 20 metres and 30 metres (two car spaces); and

(C)      "2P Ticket 8am-6pm Permit Holders Excepted Area 16" between the points 44 metres and 57 metres (two car spaces).

Background

The Lord Nelson Brewery has requested consideration to change parking in Kent Street, between Argyle and Windmill Streets, to improve loading for delivery vehicles.

The City is committed to providing dedicated parking for car sharing across the Local Government Area as part of a Council approved Car Share Policy. A submission has been received from Car Next Door for a car share space in Kent Street.
