Recommendation

It is recommended that the Committee endorse the allocation of parking on the eastern side of Central Park Avenue, Chippendale with a yellow "No Stopping" line and the western side of Central Park Avenue, Chippendale, as follows:

(A)      Between O'Connor Street and the point 10.4 metres north of O'Connor Street, with a yellow "No Stopping" line; and

(B)      Between the points 10.4 metres and 30 metres (two car spaces) north of O'Connor Street, as "2P Ticket 8am-6pm Mon-Fri" and "4P Ticket 6pm-10pm Mon-Fri; 8am-10pm Sat, Sun & Public Holidays"; and

(C)      Between the points 30 metres and 35.1 metres (one car space) north of O'Connor Street, as "No Parking" for a future car share space; and

(D)      Between the point 35.1 metres north of O'Connor Street and Irving Street, with a yellow "No Stopping" line; and

(E)      Between Irving Street and the point 20.3 metres north of Irving Street, with a yellow "No Stopping" line; and

(F)       Between the points 20.3 metres and 41 metres (four car spaces) north of Irving Street, as "2P Ticket 8am-6pm Mon-Fri" and "4P Ticket 6pm-10pm Mon-Fri; 8am-10pm Sat, Sun & Public Holidays"; and

(G)      Between the point 41 metres and 48.4 metres north of Irving Street, with a yellow "No Stopping" line; and

(H)      Between the points 48.4 metres and 70.3 metres (four car spaces) north of Irving Street, as "P15 minute"; and

(I)        Between the point 70.3 metres north of Irving Street and Chippendale Way, with a yellow "No Stopping" line.

It is also recommended that the Committee endorse the allocation of parking on the southern side of Irving Street, Chippendale with a yellow "No Stopping" line and the northern side of Irving Street, Chippendale as follows:

(J)       Between Abercrombie Street and the point 38.1 metres east of Abercrombie Street, with a yellow "No Stopping" line; and

(K)      between the points 38.1 metres and 51.7 metres (two car spaces) east of Abercrombie Street, as "2P Ticket 8am-6pm Mon-Fri" and "4P Ticket 6pm-10pm Mon-Fri; 8am-10pm Sat, Sun & Public Holidays"; and

(L)       Between the point 51.7 metres east of Abercrombie Street and Central Park Avenue, with a yellow "No Stopping" line.

The Committee carried the recommendation unanimously.

Background

The Central Park Precinct (formerly the CUB site), 26-98 Broadway, Chippendale has been approved by the Department of Planning and requires the Applicant to deliver new roads known as “Central Park Avenue”, north of O'Connor Street and "Irving Street", east of Abercrombie Street. At the completion of the works, the new roads will be dedicated to the City.

As part of the development consent, the Developer is required to submit a signage plan for kerbside parking and line marking arrangements that is to be referred to the Local Pedestrian, Cycling and Traffic Calming Committee prior to the dedication of “Irving Street” and "Central Park Avenue" as public roads.
