Recommendation

It is recommended that the Committee endorse the reallocation of parking on the northern side of Kippax Street, Surry Hills, east of Terry Street, as “Loading Zone Ticket 8am-6pm Mon-Fri” and “4P Ticket 6pm-10pm Mon-Fri, 8am-10pm Sat, Sun & Public Holidays, Permit Holders Excepted Area 18”, at the following locations:

(A)      Between the points 53 metres and 85.8 metres (6 car spaces);

(B)      Between the points 169.3 metres and 192.8 metres (4 car spaces); and

(C)      Between the points 198 metres and 215 metres (3 car spaces).

Background

The City has reviewed parking restrictions in Kippax Street, Surry Hills and identified locations that need to be updated in accordance with the City’s Neighbourhood Parking Policy and to align with other restrictions in the immediate area.

On 15 March 2018, the Local Pedestrian, Cycling and Traffic Calming Committee approved Loading Zone and Ticket Parking changes in Kippax Street, Surry Hills and several nearby streets.

Further review has identified additional Loading Zones in Kippax Street, Surry Hills which also need to be updated.
