Recommendation

It is recommended that the Committee endorse the following in Edward Street, Pyrmont, north of Pyrmont Bridge Road:

(A)      Marked pedestrian crossing in Edward Street;

(B)      Footpath widening on the western side of Edward Street, between the points 0 metres and 4.2 metres;

(C)      Kerb island on the eastern side of Edward Street, between the points 4.2 metres and 14.2 metres; and

(D)      Reallocation of parking on the eastern side of Edward Street, between the points 7.6 metres and 14.2 metres (one car space) as "No Stopping".

Background

To help improve general safety in the area as part of the City's commitment to calm traffic and improve the local amenity, it is proposed to introduce a marked pedestrian crossing and widen the footpath in Edward Street, Pyrmont, north of Pyrmont Bridge Road.
