Recommendation

It is recommended that the Committee endorse the temporary road closures for the 2018 Listen Out Music Festival on Saturday 29th September 2018, as follows:

·                Eastbound lanes in Moore Park Road, Paddington, between Oatley Road and Oxford Street, from 9pm-11pm;

·                Westbound lanes in Moore Park Road, Paddington, at Oxford Street, from 8pm-11pm; and

·                Lang Road, Centennial Park, between Anzac Parade and Cook Road, from 8pm to 11pm.

Subject to the following conditions:

(A)      The Applicant must comply with the temporary road closure conditions as stipulated in Schedule A of this agenda.

(B)      The Applicant must contact the Surry Hills PAC to discuss deployment of user pay police for the event.

(C)      The Applicant must contact the City’s Venue Management Unit to discuss the event.

(D)      The Applicant is to obtain a Road Occupancy Licence from the Transport Management Centre prior to commencement of works.

(E)      The Applicant must provide a telephone number of the supervisor responsible for the proposed event and include contact details in the notification letters to be distributed to affected stakeholders.

(F)       These temporary road closures are to be activated only if it is deemed necessary by the NSW Police for the safe egress of the event crowd.

(G)      The Traffic Management and Traffic Control Plans are agreed to ‘in principle’ and must be finalised through a Working Group established by the Event Organiser.  The Working Group is to be comprised of representatives from NSW Police, Transport for NSW (Transport Management Centre), State Transit Authority, the City, Centennial Parklands and Event Organisers.

Background

Event Services International Pty Ltd has applied for the temporary road closures of eastbound lanes in Moore Park Road, Paddington, between Oatley Road and Oxford Street, from 9pm-11pm, and westbound lanes in Moore Park Road, at Oxford Street, as well as Lang Road, Centennial Park, between Anzac Parade and Cook Road, from 8pm to 11pm for the 2018 Listen Out Music Festival on Saturday 29th September 2018.

These temporary road closures are to be activated by NSW Police if deemed necessary for the safe egress of the event crowd.
