Recommendation

It is recommended that the Committee endorse the following treatments in Waterloo:

(A)      Provision of a Shared Path at the following locations on Lachlan Place:

(i)         Between the points 0 metres and 55.3 metres north of Archibald Avenue; and

(ii)        Between the points 0 metres and 74.5 metres north of Tung Hop Street.

(B)      Provision of a Shared Path on the northern side of Archibald Avenue between the points 72.7 metres and 96.4 metres west of Gadigal Avenue; and

(C)      Provision of a Shared Path on the southern side of Lachlan Street between Gadigal Avenue and Sam Sing Street.

The Committee carried the recommendation unanimously.

Background

The Lachlan Precinct is bound by Bourke Street, Lachlan Street, South Dowling Street and O'Dea Avenue. The precinct forms part of the Green Square urban renewal area, and will include a new shared path, known as "Lachlan Place", that will provide pedestrian and people who ride bicycles access into the precinct from Lachlan Street.

The Masterplan for the Lachlan Precinct includes a shared path on Lachlan Street.
