It is recommended that the Committee endorse the following treatments in Reed Street, Waterloo (i.e. a new road) between O’Dea Avenue and Archibald Avenue;

(A)      Western side, between the points 0 metres and 36.9 metres north of O’Dea Avenue, marked with a yellow “No Stopping” line;

(B)      A 2 metre wide chevron on the western side, between the points 36.9 metres and 44.7 metres and between the points 55.9 metres and 71.5 metres north of O’Dea Avenue;

(C)      A 3.4 metre wide chevron on the eastern side, between the points 77.4 metres and 83.7 metres north of O’Dea Avenue;

(D)      Western side, marked with a yellow “No Stopping” line between the points at the following locations north of Hatbox Place:

·         0 metres and 10 metres;

·         22.6 metres and 26.1 metres;

·         32.4 metres and 56.1 metres; and

·         63.6 metres and 65.9 metres.

(E)      Western side, as “2P 8am-8pm” between the following points north of Hatbox Place:

·         10 metres and 22.6 metres (two car spaces);

·         26.1 metres and 32.4 metres (two car spaces); and

·         56.1 metres and 63.6 metres (two car spaces).

(F)       Eastern side, marked with a yellow “No Stopping” line between the points at the following locations north of Hatbox Place:

·         0 metres and 15.1 metres;

·         22.6 metres and 43.4 metres;

·         50.9 metres and 56.1 metres; and

·         63.6 metres and 65.9 metres.

(G)      Eastern side, as “2P 8am-8pm” between the following points north of Hatbox Place:

·         15.1 metres and 22.6 metres (one car space);

·         43.4 metres and 50.9 metres (one car space); and

·         56.1 metres and 63.6 metres (one car spaces).

The Committee carried the recommendation unanimously.

Background

The Lachlan Precinct is bound by Bourke Street, Lachlan Street, South Dowling Street and O'Dea Avenue. The precinct forms part of the Green Square urban renewal area, will include a new two-way road that will provide access into the precinct from O'Dea Avenue. The road, known as "Reed Street", will be delivered in sections by the developers of adjacent sites.

The Development Consent for 44-48 O’Dea Avenue, Waterloo (D/2016/1405) requires the developer construct part of a new road, known as “Reed Street” between O’Dea Avenue and Archibald Avenue.
