Advice
The Committee unanimously supported the recommendation.
Background
The intersection of Ashmore and Bridge Streets is on a major
north-south pedestrian desireline linking the nearby Ashmore Precinct Urban
Renewal Area and the Erskineville Public School and Erskineville Railway
Station.
Site observations showed large numbers of pedestrians crossing Ashmore Street at Bridge Street to get to and from Erskineville Public School and Erskineville Railway Station. A large portion of the observed foot traffic were parents with young children.
Therefore the City has received requests to improved safety
and access for pedestrians along Bridge Street.
