Recommendation

It is recommended that the Committee endorse the reallocation of parking as follows:

(A)      Western side of Elizabeth Street, Waterloo between the points 10 metres and 25.7 metres (three car spaces) as, “No Parking 7am-10am, 2pm-6pm Mon-Fri, Buses Excepted 15 Minute Limit”; and

(B)      Southern side of Raglan Street, Waterloo between the points 13.8 metres and 27.8 metres (two car spaces) as, “No Stopping”.

The Committee carried the recommendation unanimously.

Background

Following the introduction of improvements to bus routes within the City, Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) have advised that southbound buses on Elizabeth Street are unable to safely turn right from Elizabeth Street into Raglan Street when vehicles are parked in the first two parking spaces on the southern side of Raglan Street west of Elizabeth Street. TfNSW have requested an extension of the “No Stopping” restriction at this location to facilitate safe public transport operations.
