Recommendation

It is recommended that the Committee endorse the reallocation of parking in Stewart Place, Paddington as follows:

(A)      Southern side, between the points 54.8 metres and 70.6 metres (two car spaces) south of Stewart Street, after the 90 degree bend, as “No Parking”; and

(B)      Northern side, between the points 59.7 metres and 65.7 metres (one car space) and also points 66.7 metres and 72.2 metres (one car space) south of Stewart Street, after the 90 degree bend, as unrestricted for parking.

The Committee carried the recommendation unanimously.

Background

A resident of Stewart Place, Paddington has informed the City that drivers are parking facing against the direction of traffic and therefore being infringed.

The City has therefore reviewed the existing parking restrictions in Stewart Place to improve parking behaviour and ensure safety and access is maintained at all times.
