Advice

The Committee unanimously supported the recommendation.

Background

As part of the Portman Street upgrade project, Portman Street, Zetland between Hansard Street and Zetland Avenue is required to be closed to traffic to allow for construction to be completed.

A section of parking on the eastern side of Portman Street, adjacent the former South Sydney Hospital site is currently signposted as “P15 Minute 7am-9am, 4pm-6pm Mon-Fri” to allow for drop-off and pick-up at the new child care centre. It is proposed to temporarily relocate this existing timed parking into the current unrestricted kerb space on Joynton Avenue, at the rear of the child care centre, so it continues to provide for pick-up and drop-off, for the duration of the construction works.
