Advice
The Committee unanimously supported the recommendation.
Background
The City has received requests from residents seeking support for traffic calming measures in Bulwara Road between William Henry Street and Fig Street.
The residents raised concerns about vehicles speeding and utilising Bulwara Road as a short-cut to access the northern parts of Ultimo/Pyrmont.
At the 6 August Ultimo Village Voice (UVV) community meeting
the City presented two proposals for Bulwara Road. A Shared Zone with a slow
point (meandering treatment) and an alternative proposal, additional Speed
Cushions, with agreement reached for the City to progress with the development
of the additional Speed Cushion proposal. This position was re-affirmed at the
5 November 2020 UVV community meeting.
