Advice

The Committee unanimously supported the recommendation.

Background

On 15 November 2018, the Committee endorsed the provision of a raised pedestrian crossing on Portman Street as part of a suite of streetscape improvements along Portman Street. The changes included ticket parking in indented bays on the western side of Portman Street between Sonny Leonard Street and Hansard Street.

On 2 February 2021, the City held a community meeting with residents about ongoing changes related to the development of Green Square Town Centre. At the meeting residents requested the indented parking bays be extended to provide additional car parking spaces along Portman Street
