Recommendation

It is recommended that the Committee endorse the temporary road closures of Portman Street, Zetland, between Merton Street and Hansard Street from 5:30pm on 1 February 2022 to 5:30pm on 30 April 2022, subject to the following conditions:

(A)      The Applicant must comply with the temporary road closure conditions as mentioned in Schedule B of this agenda.

(B)      The Applicant must comply with any other conditions imposed by City’s Construction Regulation Unit.

(C)      The Applicant must contact the South Sydney PAC to discuss deployment of user pay police for the road closures.

(D)      The Applicant is to obtain a Road Occupancy Licence from the Transport Management Centre prior to commencement of works.

(E)      The Applicant must provide a telephone number of the supervisor responsible for the proposed closures and include contact details in the notification letters to be distributed to affected stakeholders.

Background

Ward Civil and Environmental Engineering Pty Ltd has applied for the temporary road closure of Portman Street, between Merton Street and Hansard Street, Zetland, from 1 February 2022 to 30 April 2022 to continue to carry out works of Portman Street, Zetland commissioned by the City of Sydney.

The temporary road closures on Portman Street, Zetland were previously endorsed by the LPCTCC between 19 March 2021 to 1 February 2022. However, the Portman Street Upgrade project has experienced several delays and as such require the implementation of these road closures up to 30 April 2022.
