Recommendation

It is recommended that the Committee endorse the reallocation of the following kerb space:

(A)        On the eastern side of Young Street between the points 36 metres and 55 metres south of Alfred Street as "Works Zone 7am-7pm Mon-Fri 7am-5pm Sat" and "Loading Zone All Other Times".

(B)        On the western side of Phillip Street between the points 31 metres and 66 metres south of Alfred Street as "Works Zone 7am-7pm Mon-Fri 7am-5pm Sat" and "Bus Zone Other Times".

(C)        On the western side of Phillip Street between the points 66 metres and 93 metres south of Alfred Street as "No Parking".

(D)        On the western side of Phillip Street between the points 93 metres and 115 metres south of Alfred Street as "No Parking Transport for NSW Emergency Vehicles Excepted".

(E)        On the western side of Phillip Street between the points 115 metres and 123 metres south of Alfred Street as "Bus Zone".

Subject to the following conditions:

(F)        The Applicant must comply with the Works Zone conditions as stipulated in Schedule C of this agenda.

(G)       The Applicant must obtain separate approval from the City's Tree Management Team prior to implementation of the Works Zone.

(H)        The Applicant is not permitted to operate any part of a crane over a public road or hoist/swing goods from a Works Zone across or over any part of a public road by means of a lift, hoist or crane unless a separate approval has been obtained from the City's Construction and Building Certification Services Unit as required under Section 68 of the Local Government Act 1993 and Section 138 of the Roads Act 1993.

(I)          The Applicant must notify adjacent properties of the Works Zone at least 14 days prior to installation and must provide a telephone number of the supervisor responsible for the proposed Works Zone and include contact details in the notification letter to be distributed to affected stakeholders.

The Works Zone is to facilitate construction works at 33 Alfred Street, Sydney.
