Recommendation

It is recommended that the Committee endorse the following temporary road closures for the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival 2022:

(A)      Park Street, Sydney, between College and Elizabeth Streets, for the installation and removal of the pedestrian overbridge from 11pm Saturday 10 September to 9am Sunday 11 September, from 10pm Friday 16 September to 6am Saturday 17 September (installation), from 7pm Sunday 18 September to 4am Monday 19 September 2022 (removal);

(B)      Various streets in Pyrmont, Ultimo, Millers Point, Dawes Point, Paddington, The Rocks, Darlinghurst, Surry Hills, Moore Park and Sydney for the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival 2022 on Sunday 18 September from 4am to 1.30pm.

Subject to the following conditions:

(C)      The Applicant must comply with the temporary road closure conditions as stipulated in Schedule A of this agenda.

(D)      The Applicant has nominated 7pm Sunday 11 September to 4am Monday 12 September and 11pm Saturday 17 September to 4am Sunday 18 September 2022 as contingency dates for the installation of the pedestrian overbridge.

(E)      The Applicant has nominated 7pm Monday 19 September to 4am Tuesday 20 September 2022 as contingency dates for the removal of the pedestrian overbridge.

(F)       The Applicant must contact the Sydney City PAC , Kings Cross PAC and Surry Hills PAC  to discuss deployment of user pay police for the event.

(G)      The Applicant shall submit the Traffic Management Plan to be approved by Transport for NSW, Sydney Buses, NSW Police and the City.

(H)      The Applicant shall submit the approved Traffic Management Plan to Transport for NSW and the City six weeks prior to the event.

(I)        The Applicant must contact the City’s Venue Management Unit to discuss the event.

(J)       The Applicant is to obtain a Road Occupancy Licence from the Transport Management Centre prior to commencement of works.

(K)      The Applicant must contact Transport for NSW to discuss Special Event Clearways for the event.

(L)       The Applicant must provide a telephone number of the supervisor responsible for the proposed event and include contact details in the notification letters to be distributed to affected stakeholders.

(M)      The Applicant must contact Sydney Buses and arrange and pay for the rerouting of bus services around the closures, the temporary relocation of bus stops and any additional staff required.
