Advice

The Committee unanimously supported the recommendation.

Background

On 18 March 2021, the Committee endorsed the installation of a Shared Zone in Parkham Place and Parkham Lane, Surry Hills, which included a continuous footpath treatment across Parkham Place just north of Parkham Street.

On 15 September the Committee endorsed the temporary road closures of Parkham Lane and Parkham Place, Surry Hills, between Parkham Street and Bourke Street, Surry Hills, from 7 November 2022 to 17 April 2023 to enable the construction of the above works.

This endorsement also included the temporary change from one-way to two-way traffic on Parkham Street with temporary removal of the 'No Stopping' signs and the temporary re-location of the school drop-off zone into Mort Street.

Due to delays in the project, the City needs to extend the timing for the previous changes to include from 17 April 2023 to 30 November 2023.
