Recommendation

It is recommended that the Committee endorse the following parking changes:

(A)      Reallocation of parking on the eastern side of Castlereagh Street, Sydney between the points 28.3 metres and 60.5 metres (five car spaces) south of Hunter Street as "Loading Zone Ticket 6am-6pm Mon-Fri, 6am-10am Sat and "4P Ticket 6pm-Midnight Mon-Fri 10am-10pm Sat 8am-10pm Sun and Public Holidays".

(B)      Reallocation of parking on the eastern side of Castlereagh Street, Sydney between the points 60.5 metres and 78.6 metres (three car spaces) and between the points 173 metres and 212.6 metres (seven car spaces) south of Hunter Street as "No Stopping".

(C)      Reallocation of parking on the eastern side of Castlereagh Street, Sydney between the points between the points 212.6 metres and 244.6 metres (five car spaces) south of Hunter Street as "Bus Zone 6am-8pm Mon-Fri 9am-6pm Sat-Sun and Public Holidays" and "4P Ticket 8pm-Midnight Mon-Fri 6pm-10pm Sat-Sun and Public Holidays".

(D)      Reallocation of parking on the western side of Elizabeth Street, Sydney between the points 39 metres and 58 metres (three car spaces) south of Hunter Street as "No Stopping 6am-10am and 3pm-8pm Mon-Fri", "Loading Zone Ticket 10am-3pm Mon-Fri, 6am-10am Sat and "4P Ticket 8pm-Midnight Mon-Fri 10am-10pm Sat 8am-10pm Sun and Public Holidays".

(E)      Reallocation of parking on the western side of Elizabeth Street, Sydney between the points 58 metres and 74.2 metres (three car spaces) south of Hunter Street as "Bus Zone".

(F)       Reallocation of parking on the western side of Elizabeth Street, Sydney between the points 118.4 metres and 128.8 metres (two car spaces) south of Hunter Street as "No Stopping Australia Post Vehicles Excepted 3 Minute Limit".

Background

Sydney Metro is constructing the Sydney Metro line from Chatswood to Sydenham which includes a station in the CBD at Martin Place.

The Martin Place station is located to the south of Hunter Street between Castlereagh and Elizabeth Streets, Sydney.

The public domain plan for the Martin Place Metro Station includes various parking changes in Castlereagh and Elizabeth Streets to improve access for deliveries and buses.
