Recommendation

It is recommended that the Committee endorse the installation of the following in Zetland:

(A)      Installation of raised pedestrian and cycle crossing in George Julius Avenue, between the points 143 metres and 152.7 metres north of Peters Street;

(B)      Installation of 1.7 metres central raised median in George Julius Avenue, between the points 152.7 metres and 237.5 metres north of Peters Street;

(C)      Provision of 2.8 metres separated cycleway on eastern side of George Julius Avenue, between the points 158.1 metres and 247.1 metres north of Peters Street;

(D)      The allocation of kerbside restrictions on western side of George Julius Avenue between the points 158.1 metres and 173.8 metres, north of Peters Street as "4P Mobility Parking 8am-10pm", and kerb ramps associated with the mobility space are to be installed;

(E)      Provision of Shared Environment as follows;

·                On the western side of George Julius Avenue between the points 143 metres and 158.1 metres north of Peters Street; and

·                On the eastern side of George Julius Avenue between the points 140 metres and 158.1 metres north of Peters Street.

(F)       The allocation of kerbside restrictions as "2P 8am-10pm" as follows;

·                On the western side of George Julius Avenue between the following points:

·               Between 119.3 metres and 141 metres, south of Peters Street; and

·               Between 177.1 metres and 248.2 metres, north of Peters Street; and

·                On the eastern side of George Julius Avenue between the points 159.1 metres and 240.7 metres north of Peters Street.

(G)      The allocation of kerbside restrictions as yellow "No Stopping" line as follows; and

·                On the western side of George Julius Avenue, north of Peters Street between the following points:

·               152.7 metres and 158.1 metres;

·               173.8 metres and 158.1 metres; and

·               248.8 metres and 256.7 metres

·                On the eastern side of George Julius Avenue, north of Peters Street between the following points:

·               152.7 metres and 158.1 metres; and

·               240.7 metres and 256.7 metres

Background

The City is delivering a portion of George Julius Avenue, Zetland north of Peters Street as part of the Gunyama Park Stage 2 project.

The land for the road was recently dedicated to the City from the adjacent developer, who are currently developing the land to the east of George Julius Avenue.
