Recommendation

It is recommended that the Committee endorse the following parking changes in Sydney:

(A)      Reallocation parking on the northern side of Park Street between the points 20 metre and 78.6 metre (thirteen car spaces) west of Castlereagh Street as "Bus Zone";

(B)      Reallocation parking on the western side of Castlereagh Street between the points 0 metre and 53.3 metre (eight car spaces) north of Park Street as "No Stopping";

(C)      Reallocation parking on the eastern side of Pitt Street between the points 0 metre and 24.2 metre (four car spaces) north of Park Street as "No Stopping";

(D)      Reallocation parking on the eastern side of Pitt Street between the points 24.2 metre and 50.4 metre (four car spaces) north of Park Street as "No Parking and "Kiss and Ride Area";

(E)      Reallocation parking on the southern side of Bathurst Street between the points 0 metre and 41.6 metre (six car spaces) east of Pitt Street as "No Stopping"; and

(F)      Reallocation parking on the eastern side of Pitt Street between the points 0 metres and 58.8 metres (nine car spaces) south of Bathurst Street as "No Stopping".

Background

As part of the proposed Sydney Metro Station located below Pitt and Castlereagh Streets in Sydney, parking changes are proposed in in Castlereagh, Park, Bathurst and Pitt Streets to improve on-street parking access for buses and vehicles to pick up and drop off passengers.
