Advice

The Committee unanimously supported the recommendation.

Background

The proposal is in response to residents’ concerns about heavy vehicles, including articulated buses, using Boomerang Place and Yurong Parkway as a short cut route to St Mary’s Road.

The bus movements are occurring during both day and night times and impacts on the safety and local amenity for road users and local residents in Boomerang Place and Yurong Parkway.

The buses, as confirmed by Transport for NSW (TfNSW), should be using Riley Street as part of their service route to layover at St Mary’s Road.

The objective of this proposal is to prohibit the utilisation of Boomerang Place and Yurong Parkway as a throughfare for heavy vehicles longer than 9 metres, thereby preventing it from being used as a shortcut route.
