It is recommended that the Committee endorse the following in Darlinghurst:

(A)      Installation of a continuous footpath treatment in Hardie Street, just east of Darlinghurst Road;

(B)      Footpath widening on the eastern side of Darlinghurst Road, between the points 40 metres and 74 metres north of Liverpool Street; and

(C)      Reallocation of parking on the eastern side of Darlinghurst Road, between the points 40 metres and 46 metres, north of Liverpool Street as "No Stopping".

Background

The City of Sydney proposes to introduce a continuous footpath treatment and widen the footpath at the intersection of Darlinghurst Road and Hardie Street, Darlinghurst.

The proposal will help improve general safety in the area as part of the City’s commitment to calm traffic and improve pedestrian safety and accessibility.
