Advice

The Committee unanimously supported the recommendation for the proposed disability parking space subject to it being reduced in length to 5.5 metres (as it is adjacent the statutory “No Stopping” near the corner which provides more space for access).  Additionally, a risk assessment will be carried out to reduce the statutory “No Stopping” restriction to provide more parking space (subject to pedestrian sight lines being maintained at the intersection of Harold Street and Growie Street, Newtown).

Background

A resident of Harold Street, Newtown has requested a disability parking space. The resident has advised they are not in a wheelchair but cannot physically walk far.
