Advice
The Committee unanimously supported the recommendation.
Background
The City in April 2018, consulted on the Alexandria Local Area Traffic Management Plan, which recommended several traffic calming treatments to mitigate the impacts of WestConnex on local roads.
The
footpath widening in Wyndham Street is proposed to make it safer for people
walking crossing Wyndham Street to get to Power Avenue and Alexandria Park and
vice versa.
The
footpath widening will provide a combined ramp, which provides access for both
pedestrians and the adjacent residential vehicle driveway. Tactile markers and line marking will be
installed on the footpath widening to delineate between the area for
pedestrians compared to the single vehicle access.
