The Committee unanimously supported the recommendation and noted an additional of Condition:

(D)      “Special Event Clearway 10pm-10pm Fri – Sun” between points 0 metres and 180 metres.

Background

Place Management NSW (PMNSW) has requested endorsement for converting ten free two- hour parking spaces on George St, Sydney to ticketless metered parking for up to 2 hours with the proposed addition of three new spaces.

The proposed location is currently un-metered and prone to misuse by businesses and locals. This requires heavy resourcing by the Rangers to regulate compliance and PMNSW believes that the proposed change will increase parking options and opportunities for stakeholders, visitors and businesses in the area therefore improving the customer experience.
