Recommendation

It is recommended that the Committee endorse the following reallocation of the kerb space:

1.         On the eastern side of Pitt Street, Sydney between the points 25.4 metres and 27.7 metres south of Bathurst Street as "No Stopping";

2.         On the eastern side of Pitt Street, Sydney between the points 27.7 metres and 59.7 metres south of Bathurst Street as "Works Zone 7am-7pm Mon-Fri 7am-5pm Sat" and "No Stopping All Other Times"; and

3.         On the southern side of Bathurst Street between the points 8.2 metres and 42 metres east of Pitt street as "Works Zone 7am-7pm Mon-Fri 7am-5pm Sat" and "4P Ticket 7pm-10pm Mon-Fri 5pm-10pm Sat 8am-10pm Sun and Public Holidays".

Subject to the following conditions:

(A)      The Applicant must comply with the Works Zone conditions as stipulated in Schedule C of this agenda.

(B)      The Applicant is not permitted to operate any part of a crane over a public road or hoist/swing goods from a Works Zone across or over any part of a public road by means of a lift, hoist or crane unless a separate approval has been obtained from the City's Construction and Building Certification Services Unit as required under Section 68 of the Local Government Act 1993 and Section 138 of the Roads Act 1993.

(C)      The Applicant must notify adjacent properties of the Works Zone at least 14 days prior to installation and must provide a telephone number of the supervisor responsible for the proposed Works Zone and include contact details in the notification letter to be distributed to affected stakeholders.

(D)      During the Works Zone hours, the Applicant must provide vehicle access to the Works Zone for deliveries to the Edinburgh Castle.

Background

CPB Contractors has requested the following Works Zone to facilitate the construction works for the Pitt Street Metro Station.

1.    A 32 metre long Works Zone in Pitt Street, Sydney: and

2.    A 33.8 metre Works Zone in Bathurst Street, Sydney.
