Advice
The Committee unanimously supported the recommendation.
Background
As part of the development of the City to South East Light Rail (CSELR), Parkham Lane was converted to one-way westbound and a new park, named Wimbo Park, was constructed at the western end of the lane. Wimbo Park has a 'right of way' signposted as 10km/h allowing drivers to continue along Parkham Lane to access Bourke Street.
A Shared Zone including coloured paving is proposed to
provide a consistent pedestrian priority with a 10km/h speed limit along the
laneway, prioritising safe access for pedestrians, reducing vehicle speeds and
maintaining access to properties.
