Recommendation
It is recommended that the Committee endorse the
temporary road
It is also recommended that the Committee endorse the following temporary changes to the adjacent streets, during the above roadworks in Parkham Place and Parkham Lane:
(i) The existing one-way traffic on Parkham Street, between Bourke Street and Parkham Place, be changed to two-way traffic:
(ii) Both sides of Parkham Street be changed from 2P and part-time No Parking (school drop-off) into ‘No Stopping’ to enable the temporary two-way traffic flow;
(iii) The existing unrestricted kerb space on the northern side of Mort Street, between 45 metres and 103 metres west of South Dowling Street, east of the school gate, be temporarily changed to ‘No Parking 8.30am-9.30am, 2.30pm-3.30pm, School Days Only’;
subject to the following conditions:
(A) The Applicant must comply with the temporary road closure conditions as mentioned in Schedule B of this agenda.
(B) The Applicant must comply with any other conditions imposed by City’s Construction Regulation Unit.
(C) The Applicant has indicated the 18 April 2023 to 30 April 2023 as a contingency date.

Background
On 18 March 2021, the Committee endorsed the installation of a Shared Zone in Parkham Place and Parkham Lane, Surry Hills, which included a continuous footpath treatment across Parkham Place just north of Parkham Street.
