Recommendation

It is recommended that the Committee endorse the reallocation of parking in Potts Point:

(A)      On the northern side of Bayswater Road between the points 20 metres and 66 metres    west of Ward Avenue as "No Parking (Pick Up & Set Down Area) 9pm-Midnight Fri & Sat Midnight-6am Sat & Sun", "Tow Away Area" and "1P Ticket All Other Times Permit Holders Excepted"; and

(B)      On the western side of Kellett Street between the points 12 metres and 33 metres north of Bayswater Road as "Loading Zone 6am-6pm Mon-Fri 6-10am Sat" and "4P Ticket 6-10pm Mon-Fri 10am-10pm Sat 8am-10pm Sun and Public Holidays".

The Committee unanimously supported the recommendation and noted that Kings Cross PAC will enforce the "Tow Away Area" restriction.

Background

Kings Cross Police has raised concerns about illegal parking behaviours in Bayswater Road and Kellett Street during Friday and Saturday nights to pick up and drop off passengers. The illegal parking behaviour blocks through traffic, resulting in access and safety concerns for road users.
