Recommendation

It is recommended that the Committee endorse the following treatments:

(A)      Provision of a Shared Path on the northern side of Archibald Avenue, Waterloo between the points 0 metres and 15 metres west of Gadigal Avenue;

(B)      Provision of a 2.4 metre wide separated cycleway on the northern side of Archibald Avenue, Waterloo between the points 15 metres and 112.5 metres west of Gadigal Avenue;

(C)      Provision of a 2.4 metre wide central median island on Archibald Avenue, Waterloo between the points 0 metres and 135.2 metres west of Gadigal Avenue;

(D)      Provision of a raised pedestrian crossing across Archibald Avenue, Waterloo between the points 82.7 metres and 89.9 metres west of Gadigal Avenue;

(E)      Provision of a Shared Path on the northern side of Archibald Avenue, Waterloo between the points 72.7 metres and 96.4 metres west of Gadigal Avenue;

(F)       Allocation of parking on the northern side of Archibald Avenue, Waterloo between the points 0 metres and 112.5 metres west of Gadigal Avenue, marked with a yellow "No Stopping" line;

(G)      Allocation of parking on the southern side of Archibald Avenue, Waterloo between the points 0 metres and 15.6 metres west of Gadigal Avenue, Waterloo, marked with a yellow "No Stopping" line;

(H)      Allocation of parking on the southern side of Archibald Avenue, Waterloo between the points 15.6 metres and 28.2 metres (two car spaces) west of Gadigal Avenue, Waterloo, as "2P 8am-8pm";

The Committee carried the recommendation unanimously.

Background

The Lachlan Precinct is bound by Bourke Street, Lachlan Street, South Dowling Street and O'Dea Avenue. The precinct forms part of the Green Square urban renewal area, will include a new two-way road that will provide access through the precinct linking Bourke Street and Gadigal Avenue. The road, known as "Archibald Avenue", is being delivered in sections by the developers of adjacent sites.
