Recommendation
It is recommended that the Committee endorse the following changes on the northern side of Bourke Road, Alexandria:
(A)
Between the points 182 metres and 194 metres
(B)
Between the points 148.5 metres and 238 metres
subject to the following
(C) The Applicant must comply with the Works Zone conditions as stipulated in Schedule C of this agenda.
(D) The Applicant must obtain separate approval from the City's Tree Management Team prior to implementation of the Works Zone.
(E) The Applicant is not permitted to operate any part of a crane over a public road or hoist/swing goods from a Works Zone across or over any part of a public road by means of a lift, hoist or crane unless a separate approval has been obtained from the City's Construction and Building Certification Services Unit as required under Section 68 of the Local Government Act 1993 and Section 138 of the Roads Act 1993.
(F) The Applicant must temporarily remove the existing cycleway separator island along Bourke Road, a distance of 7.30 metres to the east of the Works Zone, to provide sufficient space for vehicles to manoeuvre out of the zone, without impacting access along Bourke Road.
(G) The Applicant must temporarily remove part of the existing kerb to construct a temporary ramp to divert people who ride bicycles onto a temporary shared path along Bourke Road, Alexandria, past the Works Zone, which will maintain a link for cyclists.
(H) The Applicant must fully fund, and deliver, the reinstatement of the cycleway, the separator island, and kerb along Bourke Road, Alexandria to the City's satisfaction, once the Works Zone is no longer required.
(I) The Applicant must ensure the temporary shared path is clear and unobstructed at all times and ensure that the adjacent travel lane in Bourke Road is also unobstructed.
(J) The Applicant must notify adjacent properties of the Works Zone at least 14 days prior to installation and must provide a telephone number of the supervisor responsible for the proposed Works Zone and include contact details in the notification letter to be distributed to affected stakeholders.
