Decision

The Committee carried the recommendation unanimously.

Background

The City is committed to encouraging people to walk and ride bicycles more often and safely. The City is improving the safety and amenity of cycling infrastructure by making bicycle riding a real and convenient option for short local trips.

Pyrmont Bridge Road is a busy street with high traffic volumes and is a key route for people riding bicycles between the Inner West and Sydney CBD. The footpath widening will improve access for people walking and riding between Bulwara and Pyrmont Bridge Roads, and the Shared Paths will make it safer for people riding by providing an alternative to Pyrmont Bridge Road.
