It is recommended that the Committee endorse the following traffic treatments in Cooper Street at Waterloo Street, Surry Hills:

(A)      Footpath widening by 1.95m on the northern side of Cooper St, between the points 0 metres and 10 metres west of Waterloo Street and between the points 0 metres and 7 metres east of Waterloo Street

(B)      Footpath widening by 1.95m on the southern side of Cooper St, between the points 0 metres and 10.4 metres west of Waterloo Street and between the points 0 metres and 5.9 metres east of Waterloo Street;

Background

The City has received ongoing requests to improve the pedestrian safety and accessibility at the intersection of Cooper and Waterloo Streets, Surry Hills. Therefore, the City is proposing the installation of footpath widening to improve general safety in the area.
