Recommendation

It is recommended that the Committee endorse the following treatments in Hansard Street, Zetland:

(A)       The provision of 4.6 metre wide footpath extensions at the following locations:

·            On the northern side, between the points 0 metres and 8 metres east of Dunning Avenue;

·            On the northern side, between the points 39 metres and 47 metres east of Dunning Avenue;

·            On the northern side, between the points 0 metres and 15 metres east of Portman Street;

·            On the northern side, between the points 39 metres and 52 metres east of Portman Street;

·            On the northern side, between the points 79 metres and 97 metres east of Portman Street;

(B)       The removal of existing raised threshold and associated central median island on Hansard Street between the points 8 metres and 17 metres east of Dunning Avenue;

It is recommended that the Committee also endorse the reallocation of parking on Hansard Street, Zetland as follows:

(C)       On the northern side of Hansard Street, between the points 8 metres and 11 metres (one angle car space) east of Dunning Avenue, as “No Parking Car Share Vehicles Excepted” and "60 degree angle parking - Rear to Kerb";

(D)       On the northern side of Hansard Street, between the points 11 metres and 17 metres (two angle car spaces) east of Dunning Avenue, as unrestricted and "60 degree angle parking - Rear to Kerb";

(E)       On the northern side of Hansard Street, between the points 26 metres and 39 metres (four angle car spaces) east of Dunning Avenue, as unrestricted and "60 degree angle parking - Rear to Kerb";

(F)        On the northern side of Hansard Street, between the points 15 metres and 39 metres (eight angle car spaces) east of Portman Street, as unrestricted and "60 degree angle parking - Rear to Kerb";

(G)       On the northern side of Hansard Street, between the points 52 metres and 61 metres (two angle car spaces) east of Portman Street, as “Mobility Parking” and "60 degree angle parking - Rear to Kerb";

(H)       On the northern side of Hansard Street, between the points 61 metres and 67 metres (two angle car spaces) east of Portman Street, as “Loading Zone 7am-6pm Monday –Friday” and "60 degree angle parking - Rear to Kerb";

(I)         On the northern side of Hansard Street, between the points 67 metres and 79 metres (four angled car spaces) east of Portman Street, as “2P 8am-76pm Monday-Friday” and "60 degree angle parking - Rear to Kerb";

(J)        On the southern side of Hansard Street, between the points 12 metres and 18 metres (one parallel car space) west of Joynton Avenue, as “2P 8am-6pm Monday-Friday”;

(K)       On the southern side of Hansard Street, between the points 34 metres and 47 metres (two parallel car spaces) west of Joynton Avenue, as “2P 8am-6pm Monday-Friday”;

(L)        On the southern side of Hansard Street, between the points 55 metres and 60 metres (one parallel car space) west of Joynton Avenue, as “2P 8am-6pm Monday-Friday”;

(M)      On the southern side of Hansard Street, between the points 70 metres and 76 metres (one parallel car space) west of Joynton Avenue, as “2P 8am-6pm Monday-Friday”;

(N)       On the southern side of Hansard Street, between the points 76 metres and 112 metres (six parallel car spaces) west of Joynton Avenue, as “2P 8am-10pm Permit Holders Excepted Area 35”;

(O)       On the southern side of Hansard Street, between the points 117 metres and 139 metres (four parallel car spaces) west of Joynton Avenue, as “2P 8am-10pm Permit Holders Excepted Area 35”;

(P)       On the northern side of Hansard Street, between the points 23 metres and 29 metres (one parallel car space) east of Botany Road, as “2P 8am-10pm Permit Holders Excepted Area 35”;

The Committee unanimously supported the recommendation.

Background

Residents have requested that the City consider the implementation of angle parking in Portman Street, Merton Street and Hansard Street, Zetland to increase the availability of parking for residents in the surrounding area.

Residents have also requested a review of parking restrictions in Portman Street, Hansard Street, Merton Street, Tosh Lane, Christies Lane and Portman Lane to clarify and reduce restrictions on parking controls. The requests include the removal of endorsed ticket parking and the provision of unrestricted parking, increasing permit parking and clarifying restrictions.
