Recommendation
It is recommended that the Committee endorse the provision of 4.6 metre wide footpath extensions at the following locations on the northern side of Merton Street, Zetland:
· Between the points 0 metres and 16 metres west of Elizabeth Street;
· Between the points 28 metres and 33 metres west of Elizabeth Street;
· Between the points 0 metres and 9 metres west of Christies Lane; and
· Between the points 30 metres and 35 metres west of Christies Lane;
It is also recommended that the Committee endorse
the

the northern side, between the points 16 metres and 28 metres (four angle car
spaces) west of Elizabeth Street, as "2P 8am-10pm Permit Holders Excepted
Area 35" and "60 degree angle parking - Rear to Kerb";

Background
Residents have requested that the City consider the implementation
of angle parking in Portman Street, Merton Street and Hansard Street, Zetland
to increase the availability of parking for residents in the surrounding area.
Residents have also requested a review of parking
restrictions in Portman Street, Hansard Street, Merton Street, Tosh Lane,
Christies Lane and Portman Lane to clarify and reduce restrictions on parking
controls.
