Background

The George Street North closure is for St Patrick's Day activations to support tenants and events in The Rocks. George Street will be set up on Wednesday 16 March 2022 in the evening for St Patrick's day breakfast on Thursday 17 March 2022 and the roadway will be activated for the entire period of the road closure request.

The Rocks Markets operations currently closes the George Street each weekend from Saturday 4am till Sunday 10pm and during some public holidays under DA D/2012/1592/C.

The Rocks Markets DA - D/2012/1592/C was amended on the 24 May 2019 and approval states 36 Late Night Special Events markets throughout the year.
