Moved by Councillor Scott, seconded by the Chair (the Lord Mayor) -

It is resolved that:

(A)      Council note:

(i)         there is a recycling crisis currently facing local councils and communities across Australia; and

(ii)        that all Councils must look for increasing opportunities to play their part in procuring recycled materials to promote the circular economy; and

(B)      the Chief Executive Officer be requested to:

(i)         investigate options, including policy changes and advocacy, for the City of Sydney to maximise activity to create a circular waste economy; and

(ii)        provide a report to Councillors via the CEO Update on actions undertaken.
