Decision
The Committee carried the recommendation unanimously.
Background
Transport for NSW’s, CBD and South East Light Rail (CSELR)
project from Circular Quay to Kingsford and Randwick via Surry Hills has made
it necessary to change the road network along and next to the light rail
corridor.
The required changes include the closure of Chalmers Street, Surry Hills to provide safe pedestrian access to and from the CBD and South East Light Rail platforms.
Chalmers Street from Randle Street to closure will become
two-way traffic flow to maintain access to properties.
