Recommendation

It is recommended that the Committee endorse the allocation of parking on the northern side of Swanson Street, Erskineville as “2P 8am-10pm, Permit Holders Excepted Area 36” between the following points:

(A)      33.5 metres and 75.8 metres (seven car spaces), west of Park Street;

(B)      10 metres and 61.4 metres (nine car spaces); and

(C)      116.4 metres and 195 metres (13 car spaces).

Decision

Swanson Street, between Railway Parade and Park Street, is a state road, under the control of the Roads and Maritime Services (RMS). The RMS has reviewed and approved this proposal.

Background

The Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) and the City have received requests from residents of Swanson Street, Erskineville to install permit parking in front of their homes to improve parking access.

Swanson Street is a classified State Road under RMS control, therefore any parking changes are approved under their authority. However the proposal to install permit parking is supported by the City on behalf of the residents.
