Recommendation

It is recommended that the Committee endorse the installation of a continuous footpath treatment across Belmont Street, Alexandria, just south of Fountain Street.

Background

In April 2018, the City developed a Local Area Traffic Management (LATM) plan for Alexandria, Erskineville and St Peters to mitigate the flow of increased traffic from the WestConnex St Peters interchange. The LATM plan proposed a suite of treatment options including road closures and streetscape improvements to protect local amenity.

The City is now progressing on the approval of several of these treatments, including the introduction of a continuous footpath treatment (CFT) across Belmont Street, Alexandria, just south of Fountain Street.
