Advice
The Committee unanimously supported
the recommendation.
Background
On 21 June 2018, the Committee endorsed the permanent closure to traffic of Park Road, Alexandria. However, a section of Park Road was retained between Power Avenue and a point 48 metres north of Power Avenue with a turnaround area provided outside Alexandria Park Community School and on-street parking during school hours. The closure facilitated the development of a new recreational space and sports field for school and community use.
It is proposed to extend the previous closure to the south, to
facilitate pedestrian and cyclist access to the school and recreational
facilities.
