It is resolved that:
(A)
Council endorse the sale of proposed lot 22 in an as yet
unregistered plan of subdivision of 19-21 Lachlan Street, Waterloo, being Lot
18 in Deposited Plan 610311, at the price agreed to by both parties and
supported by independent valuation as detailed in Confidential Attachment C to
the subject report;
(B)
authority be delegated to the Chief Executive Officer to
finalise all negotiations and enter into a Contract for Sale and any other
documentation required to complete the sale;
(C)
in future, where the Council is considering selling or
transferring land it owns which has been deemed as ‘surplus’, Council is given
the opportunity to provide feedback on the use of the land, before any options
are substantially progressed;
(D)
to assist the Council in providing feedback, the Chief
Executive Officer be requested to provide advice about potential uses for the
surplus land. These could include for: affordable housing, pocket parks or
green spaces, recreation or public art; and
(E)
Council may determine to undertake community consultation
on the use of surplus land.
