Recommendation

It is recommended that the Committee endorse the reallocation of parking on the eastern side of Clarence Street, Sydney between the points 94 metres and 127 metres (six car spaces) north of Market Street as "No Stopping 3pm-8pm Mon-Fri 10am-6pm Sat-Sun & Public Holidays", "Loading Zone Ticket 6am-3pm Mon-Fri 6am-10am Sat-Sun & Public Holidays" and "Taxi Zone All Other Times".

Background

The York, Clarence and Kent Streets, Sydney (YCK precinct) working group comprising of representatives from the YCK Association, local hospitality businesses, Theatre Royal, City of Sydney, Transport for NSW, QVB, QT Hotel, NSW Taxi Council and Point to Point Commissioner have identified the need for a secure taxi rank in Clarence Street due to the influx of visitors to the precinct.
