Advice
The Committee unanimously supported the recommendation.
Background
The proposed Sydney Metro West runs between Hunter Street in the Sydney CBD and Westmead in Western Sydney. One of the metro stations for Sydney Metro West is proposed in the Sydney CBD on Hunter Street. Two construction sites, namely Hunter Street East and Hunter Street West are established to undertake the proposed construction works.
The Construction Traffic Management Plan for the Hunter Street
West site has identified the need to temporarily close Hunter Street between
George and Pitt Streets to general traffic. The closure is proposed to improve
pedestrian safety and increase efficiency for construction activities
associated with the Sydney Metro Hunter Street West station.
