The Panel granted consent to Development Application No. D/2018/277 subject to the conditions set out in Attachment A to the subject report.

Carried unanimously.

Reasons for Decision

The Panel approved the application as:

(A)      The proposal is consistent with the objectives of the B8 Metropolitan Centre Zone.

(B)      The proposal is consistent with the relevant controls for the site.

(C)      The proposal complies with the site-specific exemptions that apply to the Queen Victoria Building under Section 57(2) of the Heritage Act 1977.

(D)      The proposal is internal to Shop 15-17 and maintains and preserves the heritage fabric of the building. The proposal will not detract from the heritage significance of the building.
